When I looked at the beautiful smile of the pretty airhostess standing in the plane door I knew I was lost. She had an orchid in her hair and later on all the female passangers got one as well. Oh, my god, I was sooooooo happy flying to Thailand, eating a very nice fish curry and watching the promotion of the attractions I was about to see soon. (I already felt like it is not the first time I am coming here.)
There was a Nepali man sitting next to me who did not seem to share my carefreeness. Especially when food arrived. He was just looking around like a little animal in danger until I unpacked my set of catlery and started to eat. This was the time when he got extremely nervous. He tried his best but he did have a hard time eating with those unnecessary bits of metals that intruded the place between the food and his hands. In the meantime I tried very hard not to smile too laud at him. :)
The other attraction for me was to watch the childrenlike faces of the monks in robes travelling with us. At certain hotter parts of the romantic western movie I was afraid that their eyes would gently depart from its original place and stuck on the screen forever... They were really sweet. :)
As for good wether, cheap good food and any kinds of fruit cut in beautifully handy pieces Bangkok is heaven on earth! Oh yes, the pinapple tastesmuch better here and I should not forget the ever present cats and the indispensable orchids. It just feels like home. (Thanks to Ervin for the tip! :)
I met so many people in BKK who started their worldaround trip 4 or 6 years ago with the original plan for one year. They are still on the road. My Austrian friend is actually doing it since he is 17 and he has climed narly all the high mountains around the world. Some people came a long time ago to visit and got stuck here, boght a house and have beautiful children. (Even though the wife has the right to kick him out any time since she has to have 51 percent!) Oh, yes. This is a different world...
Right now my friend, who is a proffesional mountain guide and just been to more than 7000 m, and me are in Krabi enjoying rock climbing and snorkelling. It might take me a time to write again because the prices here are rather high since the movie 'the beach' was made here on my next destination: Kho phi phi island, Maya bay.
Tace care and Love to you all! :)
